Troy W. McCall, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Troy McCall is the Chief Executive Officer for Cetero Research, responsible for the overall management and strategy of the company. With nearly 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and CRO industries, Dr. McCall has spearheaded corporate efforts in product development, global operations, sales and business strategies that span all phases of the drug development continuum.
Dr. McCall was previously Chief Executive Officer at Premier Research Group Limited, a global full-service clinical research organization. Prior to Premier Research, he was President of Advanced Clinical Research Services (ACRS), a privately held company focused on the development and implementation of technology-enabled data management platforms. Dr. McCall began his career at Penwest Pharmaceuticals where he led the company’s drug development efforts resulting in four product approvals. He is co-inventor on four patents involving Penwest’s drug delivery technologies. Dr. McCall received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in pharmaceutical sciences, with a specialization in pharmacokinetics, from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Christian Brothers University.

Michael Murren
Chief Financial Officer
Michael Murren is the Chief Financial Officer for Cetero. Mr. Murren oversees all the financial reporting, audit, tax, risk management and transactional activities for the company. Additionally, his strategic leadership and operations management provides due diligence to capital/portfolio investment analysis, contracts, management,client communications and competitive pricing.
With 25 years of experience in the financial sector, he has managed financial departments of various sizes within global companies from $100 million to five billion dollars of annual revenue. Prior to joining Cetero, Mr. Murren was the Chief Financial Officer of Hill-Rom. Mr. Murren has a Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University. He completed the GE Financial Management Program with honors and is Six Sigma trained. He is a member of Financial Executives International (FEI) Association.

Steve Unwin, MBA
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Unwin also serves as the President of Cetero’s business units in St. Louis, Missouri and Miami, FL. The clinical pharmacology unit in St. Louis, is a 105,000 square-foot facility with 10 individual clinics of 520 beds, including 60 ICU-style beds. The clinical pharmacology unit in Miami, FL is a 25,000 square-feet facility with 137 beds, including 17 ICU-style beds. These facilities specialize in clinical pharmacology involving patients, healthy participants and multiple types of special populations.
He joined Cetero in 2006 and has over 32 years of drug development experience, including management positions at global pharmaceutical and contract research organizations. Mr. Unwin holds a Master of Business Administration degree, and Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He is a certified project management professional and is a member of the Drug Information Association, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Project Management Institute.

Michael C. Fillios
Chief Administrative Officer
Mr. Fillios is a global business and technology executive with significant transformation and leadership experience. He is a twenty-one-year veteran in industries spanning pharmaceutical manufacturing industrial engineering, and management consulting.
He joined Cetero from ITT Corporation, a global high-tech engineering and manufacturing company, where he was responsible for strategic business relationship management and driving process and technology integration for the enterprise and all global business functions.
Prior to ITT, Mr. Fillios served as the Chief Solutions Officer at BTM Corporation, a market leader in business technology management solutions, where he advised executives on implementing transformative management practices in the public and private sector. Earlier in his career, he led the finance, human resources and information technology function at Penwest Pharmaceuticals, and worked in the enterprise solutions practice at Grant Thornton, where he lead multi-million dollar process and technology transformation initiatives.
Mr. Fillios started his career as a senior auditor with Ernst & Young and earned his Bachelor of Business degree from The Hagen School of Business at Iona College.

James Dixon
Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Quality & Compliance
James Dixon is the Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Quality and Compliance with oversight of all Cetero service lines. He is responsible for the management of audits, process improvements, computer validations, investigations, controlled document management and regulatory compliance and all of the functions associated with quality assurance oversight of bioanalytical and clinical sites.
Mr. Dixon has more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical and contract research organizations, holding senior level roles at seven companies. Mr. Dixon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University. He is a member of the Board of Directors, Frederick Memorial Hospital System, Drug Information Association and the Society of Quality Assurance.

April Johnson
Vice President, Business Relationship Management
April Johnson is the Vice President of Business Relationship Management at Cetero. Ms. Johnson oversees all project management, client services and marketing activities. Her responsibilities include development of the project management team and its day-to-day operations and Cetero’s business planning, branding and communications with clients and the industry. In addition to her experience at Cetero, Ms. Johnson has 15 years of experience in marketing, including 12 years with contract research organizations. Ms. Johnson has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She is a member of the American Marketing Association, Project Management Institute and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

Alan K. Copa, PharmD
President, Cetero-Fargo
Dr. Alan Copa is the President of Cetero Research in Fargo, North Dakota. Dr. Copa manages the operations of a 250,000 square-foot facility with 544 beds, including 120 ICU-style beds. This facility specializes in clinical pharmacology studies involving healthy and special population participants.
Dr. Copa has nearly 20 years of CRO experience in a variety of clinical research roles including hands-on experience as a clinical study coordinator, director of pharmacy and director of clinical research. Dr. Copa received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

Lona Sheeran
President, Cetero-San Antonio and Toronto
Lona Sheeran is the President of Cetero’s clinical operations in San Antonio, Texas and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In San Antonio, Ms. Sheeran manages an 80,000 square-foot facility with 100 beds, including 12 ICU-style beds. This facility specializes in clinical studies involving healthy, diabetic and obese participants.
In Toronto, Ms. Sheeran manages a 66,000 square-foot facility with 76 beds, including eight ICU-style beds. This facility specializes in clinical pharmacology and Environmental Exposure Chambers involving patients, healthy patients and multiple types of special populations.
She has more than 15 years of clinical research experience covering site management, project management, business development, clinical safety monitoring and training. Ms. Sheeran earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University and is Lean Six Sigma certified.

Douglas Turk, PhD
President, Bioanalytical Labs
Douglas Turk is President of Cetero’s bioanalytical operations for laboratories in Houston, Texas and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Responsible for the scientific operations, management, technical and administrative functions of the laboratory, he directs research activities toward bioanalytical method development, method validation and high-quality analytical assays for submission to worldwide regulatory bodies. Dr. Turk joined Cetero in 2011 as Sr. Director of Research and Development, following 20 years of bioanalytical industry experience. He most recently held the position of Senior Director, ADME at NoAb BioDiscoveries, where he provided strategic direction for laboratory operations within discovery services and business development efforts. Earlier career positions include director-level bioanalytical operations roles at Titan Pharmaceuticals and the former Hoechst-Marion Roussel, currently Aventis Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Turk received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in analytical neurochemistry from the University of Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and a Master of Science degree in analytical chemistry from McGill University. He is a member of the Annual Land O’Lakes Bioanalytical Conference Planning Committee, and a number of scientific organizations including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, American Chemical Society, Chemical Institute of Canada, Canadian Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences, American Society of Mass Spectrometry and Sigma Xi – The Scientific Research Society.

David Coggin, MS, MBA
Vice President, Biometrics
David Coggin is Vice President, Biometrics. He oversees the operational management of PK/PD, data management, biostatistics, programming and medical writing services.
Mr. Coggin has nearly 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industries. He most recently held the role of Global Head, Early Clinical Services, Clinical Data Management, within the Clinical Data, Analysis and Reporting Organization at Covance. He held leadership positions at Covance for the past 17 years, where he was responsible for the overall performance of biostatistics, data management, medical writing and programming services.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Coggin oversaw biostatistics and information services for commercial and academic organizations specializing in oncology and infectious disease research.
Mr. Coggin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in entomology from the University of Delaware. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Hood College, a Master of Computer Science degree from the Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science degree in entomology with emphasis in biostatistics from the University of Maryland.
